Changing Worlds

Meet Stephen - my 25-year-old brother-in-law. By age 23 he had become the VP of two different companies where he dealt in multimillion dollar deals. And if being business savvy isn't enough, he's also highly artistic. Ben & I proudly display two wall-sized impressionistic paintings he completed in high school. He's witty and charming and fun to be around.

I like to call him the golden child. And you'd like him. He has all the reason in the world to be arrogant but he's not.

Last fall Stephen began telling us that it was time for a change - he was ready to do something a little different with his life. At first he thought that might look like going to Costa Rica for a year to help missionaries. The picture still wasn't clear but he began to make plans as if he was going. He sold his car. He began to set aside the money he would need. He started making plans for the house he currently lives in. All without a clear picture of where God might take him.

Then a 7.0 earthquake rocked the small country of Haiti. Stephen's picture began to come into focus. In three days - February 27th - Stephen will leave as part of a two-man team to coordinate some of Haiti Outreach Ministries efforts in this devastated country.

If you feel compelled to contribute to Stephen's work down there, visit his blog where you can read up-to-date information about current needs and even donate directly to him from his sight.

God's speed and blessings, Stephen!
